Palmichal • Costa Rica

Palmichal • Costa Rica
This coffee comes from the Palmichal micromill in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica. The farmers who deliver to Palmichal are very small and only produce on average ten bags per year (around 600kg). That's how they prefer it, though, as Palmichal wants to be small-scale and focus on high quality processing and coffee.
It's a regional blended lot that they've named "La Playa" which means the beach. A strange name considering that there are no beaches in the high altitude and hilly region of Tarrazu, but they intended it to mean that this is a laid-back and easy coffee. That's true, in a way. This isn't a very challenging coffee. Instead it delivers a smooth and pleasant experience and is easy to drink every day.
Tastes similar to chocolate, almond and red apple.
