Flor de Selva • Peru • Organic
The name of this coffee translates to jungle flower and is a communal blend from 72 small farmers around the Rumpite village in northern Peru. As the name suggests the coffees used for this blend are selected based on "floral" characteristics and are also clean, complex and elegant.
Each farm is located at a very high altitude and they pick and process the cherries themselves on micromills at the farms. The parchment coffee is then delivered for quality evaluation and blending. The farms are organic certified and the quality requirements for this blend are high. The group behind the initiative, Origin Coffee Lab, are also helping the participating farmers with training, financing and feedback.
