Hacienda El Guarsin from Guatemala was our Christmas Coffee in 2023 and we loved it so much we bought it again this year.

It comes from producers José and Domitila Corado in the town of Conguaco in Jutiapa, in northwestern Guatemala. It's a coffee-growing region known as New Oriente. They have a son, José Corado, who lives in Norway and runs his own coffee roastery: Corado Coffee Roasters. He imports coffee from the family farm to Norway, and we purchased this lot from him. We're very happy to be able to work with him and his family and their amazing coffees!

This is a washed catuaí-variety and we think it's a perfect coffee for everyday drinking with good balance and body.

Suggested brewing recipe:

This is a balanced and well-rounded coffee with soft acidity, good body and sweetness. Should work well with most brewing methods but we prefer it on an electric drip coffee maker.

• 60g of medium-coarsely ground coffee per 1 litre of water.
• Make sure you brewer is clean, or the brew will taste like old coffee!
• Avoid using the pot to pour water into the brewer, it will introduce oils and coffee residue into the brewing mechanism.
• It's a good idea to stir the slurry after a minute to ensure all the grounds are wet.
• Target brew time 4-6 minutes.
