Kalve coffee roastery is located in Riga, Latvia. They won the Roast Masters competition in Amsterdam in 2025, and they're a certified B Corp with a high focus on making a positive impact in everything they do. They've worked hard to put Latvia on the specialty coffee map and we'd say they're doing a good job of it! Silje has been judging alongside one of their founders, Raimonds, for years in coffee competitions, so we're pleased to be able to feature Kalve as a guest roastery.
At the Chelbesa washing station, ripe cherries are picked, floated and pulped, then dry fermented in tanks before drying on raised beds for 10 to 15 days. The result is a high-quality and fruit-forward coffee that is bright, clean and cibrant with a pronounced acidity and tea-like aromas.
